PennDOT Will Be Implementing a Tier 1 Restriction on Interstates in District 4

Dunmore, PA – Due to the severity of an upcoming winter storm, PennDOT will be temporarily restricting certain vehicles on interstates beginning Monday, February 27, 2023, at 7:00 PM.

Restrictions are in effect on Interstate 81 from Dunmore to the New York state line, and Interstate 84 in Lackawanna, Wayne, and Pike counties.

Under Tier 1 restrictions, the following vehicles are NOT permitted:

• Tractors without trailers

• Tractors towing unloaded or lightly loaded trailers

• Passenger vehicles towing trailers, RVs, school buses, commercial buses, and motorcycles
